Anne and Gilbert

Catholic Central's 2007 Spring musical, Anne and Gilbert, sold out every performance and received rave reviews from audience members. The success of the show is a tribute to the cast, crew, orchestra and production staff who put in hours of time and tons of energy.

The cast and production staff were particularly thrilled when the writers of the original show, Bob Johnston and Nancy White, flew in from Toronto to attend the Friday night performance. The writers met with students after the show for an autograph, picture-taking and questions and answer session. Students learned more about the process that writers go through as they collaborate on a new show, including the issues involved with satisfying the producer, making decisions about what to keep and what to cut, and interpretation of characters and events. The writers enjoyed seeing an amateur production of the show, and commented on both the excellent performances of the students and the delight of seeing young actors in the roles.

A special thanks is due to all those who helped with Anne and Gilbert, including parents who volunteered for backstage duties and the many staff members who provided assistance and enthusiastic support.
