A Radiant Milestone: Celebrating the CCHS Class of 2026
The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division was alive with excitement this past weekend as we celebrated the incredible Class of 2026 from Catholic Central High School (CCHS). It was a weekend defined by more than just diplomas; it was a beautiful tapestry of faith, deep reflection, and genuine, heartfelt joy.
Inspired by the theme “Climb a Mountain and Turn Around,” graduates, families, and staff gathered to honor the resilience and spirit of a class that has truly left its mark on our community.
The celebrations began on a high note Friday evening with a moving graduation Mass presided over by Father Kevin Tumback. That sense of gratitude carried over into Saturday morning, where the atmosphere was electric. There is nothing quite like the collective cheer of a community watching its youth proudly cross the stage to begin their next chapter.
Throughout the ceremonies, the messages shared were filled with warmth and wisdom. Trustees, teachers, and Superintendent Chantel Axani each spoke to the strength found in faith and the importance of carrying a supportive community in one’s heart long after leaving the halls of CCHS.
Valedictorian Alex Galtonov delivered a standout address, using the lyrics of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” to reflect on the growth that happens during life’s most uncertain moments. He reminded his peers that the "climb" is just as important as the view from the top.
“Keep climbing, keep dreaming, even keep failing,” he shared. “Most of all, enjoy the journey. You deserve it.”
Challenging the graduates to look outward, Trustee Carmen Mombourquette asked them how they might use their unique talents and the love of Christ to build a world they are proud to pass down to future generations.
Superintendent Chantel Axani also shared a powerful perspective on what truly makes a life successful.
Grounding her message in the words of St. Paul, she reminded the graduates that even the greatest achievements are hollow without compassion.
“The goal is to be the love that makes the climb worth it, for everyone,” Axani shared. “If you carry the love of Christ, you will be everything.”
As the Class of 2026 looks toward new horizons, this weekend served as a brilliant reminder of their potential. It was a time to pause, "turn around," and see just how far they have come through hard work and faith.
Congratulations to all our CCHS 2026 graduates! May you continue to climb with courage, purpose, and an abundance of love.
