Technical Theatre
* NEW to CCH for the 2024-2025 school year and a work in progress*
Technical Theatre 15/25/35 is an off-timetable, 3-credit course led by Mr. Braden Dalton in conjunction with the CCH Fine Arts production team for students who become part of the CREW of CCH’s annual production. This course culminates in a production in the spring. Students interested in this course are required to sign up with the Director or Stage Managers and attend scheduled rehearsals throughout the production calendar - usually two or three per week until the end of February, when the show nears its completed stage and rehearsals involving crew happen every day. It is recommended that students have taken Drama classes to be familiarized with the various aspects of Technical Theatre. Students will be involved in working behind the scenes to help ensure the success of the annual production - all students will learn how to actively stage-manage a production, including a focus on a number of different areas, including lighting, sound, sets, props, costume, and makeup. They will also develop collaborative and critical-thinking skills as they assist from behind the scenes to put on the show. Break a leg!
